
IAF Buying 56 CASA C-295. Firstly, India has signed a ₹22,000-crore contract with Airbus for 56 C-295 medium transport aircraft for the Indian Air Force.
According to Airbus, India has formalized the acquisition of 56 Airbus C295 aircraft to replace the Indian Air Force (IAF) legacy AVRO fleet.
Secondly, under the contractual agreement, Airbus will deliver the first 16 aircraft in ‘fly-away condition from its final assembly line in Seville, Spain.
Thirdly, The subsequent 40 aircraft will be manufactured and assembled by Tata Advanced Systems (TASL) in India as part of an industrial partnership between the two companies.
Moreover, After the contract implements, the first 16 aircraft will deliver over four years.
Consequently, IAF will hand over all C295s in transport configuration and equipped with an indigenous Electronic Warfare Suite.
